purpose
The goal of this project is to create a poster detailing the life cycle of an organism. Through this project, we can be more familiar with Zbrush and rendering them in Keyshot.
Process
After I researched on the life cycle of the sea turtle, I discovered that these creatures travel extensively during their lifetime, which made it difficult to display their entire habitat in a single image. So I choose to compress the view of a larger picture. By displaying the "Feeding area" close to audiences and the "Nesting beach" far into the background, the illustration can capture the entirety of the sea turtle’s life cycle and habitat.
Then I started to sculpt the models. Sea turtles do not undergo drastic changes in physiology during their lives. Therefore, I decided to create 2 basic models: an adult model and a model of sea turtle infancy. To make the environment more vivid, I placed the turtles into a coral reef setting.
After sculpting the basic models, for the concepts I had in mind, I positioned and posed each model into various scenes. After preparing the model positions and poses for every scene, I imported them into Zbrush and rendered them separately in PNG format.
Finally, I rendered the background and arranged the imported models appropriately, and played with the layout of content until I completed the final depiction.
